Pacaya Samiria Amazon Lodge - 3 days/ 2 nights

Pacaya Samiria National Reserve is the most important, extensive and diverse reserve in the Peruvian area. It contains the greatest number of Amazon floodplain ecosystems on its 2,080,000 hectares, which represents 1.5% of the Peruvian area. The two major tributaries of the Amazon River, the Ucayali River and the Maranon River shape the boundaries of the Reserve. Pacaya Samiria Reserve has recently been recognized (February 2015) as the "Second best place for wildlife in the world" (award given by the prestigious newspaper American USA Today) mainly due to its amazing biodiversity with more than 1,000 species of wildlife, 965 wild plants and large areas of palm swamps or "aguaje? forests, all what creates an unmatchable scenic beauty in the world. Around and inside the Reserve and its buffer zone there are 203 populated centers that are home to more than 120,000 inhabitants.

Explorama Lodge - 3 days/ 2 nights

Originally built in 1964 and located in an extensive Primary Rainforest Reserve 80 km/50 mi down the Amazon River from Iquitos, Explorama Lodge under went a facelift for its 45th anniversary. The 40 typical palm-thatched jungle lodge rooms now have private bathroom facilities! But dont worry, the Lodge has maintained its romantic atmosphere with kerosene lamps and torches for lighting, mosquito-netted beds, and covered walkways to the Tahuampa Bar and Hammock House where you can relax surrounded by a myriad of rainforest sounds.
